Is a cosmo manual transmission same as repu?
would a cosmo manual transmission fit in repu, no modifications?
i have access to a cosmo 5 speed and want to know if it'll fit in my 74 repu before purchasing said trans.

'Should' be identical...
...except, perhaps, for certain minor variations in specific gearing... depending on year...

Is overall length, width, input and out put shafts the same?
Is it plug and play?
I searched online and the cosmo, rx4, and repu 5 speeds all have same gears.

Some '74 four speeds had two sets of tranny mount bolts. The 5 speeds don't. I had to slot my tranny crossmember mount and it then was able to fit a 5 speed.

I have two REPU's both of which have '76 5-speed trannies in them. Only had to modify the crossmember. I definately recommend this mod. No need to cut your cab or change driveshafts either.

...or a fifth of Jack...
Seriously, though, I have a list *somewhere* here that details the slight changes in gears thru the years... there is a 'taller' 3rd in some, for sure...
