head light covers....
is the painted section argent like the grille? The ones on my truck are black but I don`t know if its the original color or not.

Headlight Covers
The painted portion of the headlight covers were oringinally black and not the argent of the center grill.

Would you happen to know if it was flat or a gloss?

Not 100% certain, but
it always looked flat to me! No telling for sure, tho, 30 years later...

Headlight Covers
The original finish for the black painted areas was a semi-gloss black, neither flat nor glossy, what everyone would call "satin" I guess.

Orville, you confirmed what I suspected. Have you been able to find the second miiror base gasket? I`m going to start making making moulds soon, so far I have new b/u lamp lens gaskets, right and left door pads and outer door handle pads. I`m thinking about doing the rubber bushings and caps between the windshield wiper linkage and wiper arms too.
